ANNOTATION
The article explores the key factors affecting the growth and development of the feed additives market in Ukraine. It highlights the strong connection between market dynamics and developments in the livestock industry. The resilience of Ukrainian livestock producers under challenging conditions, such as martial law, is also emphasized. In 2023, these producers improved significant volume and efficiency indicators through effective animal feeding systems, including feed additives.
Furthermore, the study uses SWOT and PEST analysis methods to assess the operating environment of feed additive market players and evaluate the impact of key factors on their behavior.
The article points out the heavy reliance of the Ukrainian feed additives market on imports, and highlights the challenges faced by domestic producers due to their inferior technological and marketing capabilities compared to foreign companies. Additionally, it suggests that substantial foreign investments in feed manufacturing companies could potentially alter this situation, contingent upon improvements in Ukraine's investment climate following the cessation of martial law.
The feed additives market in Ukraine is experiencing growth due to several key factors. These include the implementation of advanced feeding technologies by livestock enterprises to enhance productivity, growing domestic market requirements for product quality and safety, and the promotion of livestock product exports to the European Union. This push towards exports is encouraging the use of feed additives as safe growth stimulants for farm animals and as substitutes for chemotherapeutic veterinary drugs. Additionally, the increasing demand from small livestock producers is further contributing to the growth of the feed additives market in Ukraine. This demand is being fueled by improved government support for small producers and efforts to revive the livestock industry in the country.
