ANNOTATION
The article outlines problems of animal husbandry and commercial fodder production, which are caused by the disparity of prices for agricultural and industrial products, low purchasing capacity of business entities and population, impact of the level of world prices for grain on the processes of pricing in fodder production, weak investment activity of agricultural producers, slow adaptation of the fodder market participants to the conditions of the competitive environment performance, misbalance of demand and supply. The authors of the research name the factors influencing development of commercial fodder production, particularly demand, supply, competition, state impact, level of infrastructure development. It is confirmed that harmony of all above-mentioned factors secures appropriate performance of the fodder market. The research identifies participants of the fodder market, including producers and consumers, and defines the consumers’ characteristics at the fodder market. The researchers distinguish two subgroups of fodder producers: enterprises, specializing in commercial fodder production and agroholdings, i.e. vertically integrated enterprises, possessing mixed fodder production in their structure. The work justifies the advantages of personal fodder production organization by agroholdings. The article examines relations between the livestock of agricultural animals and poultry, bred by all categories of agricultural producers in Ukraine, and the volume of fodder production. The obstacles preventing fodder export are named. Negative impact of the level of world prices for grain on the pricing processes in fodder production are identified. It is stressed that the increased price for grain because of a high demand at the foreign market, including fodder grain that is used for fodder production, significantly effects the prices for meat, eggs and many other food products. The authors of the article present a modeled scheme of the fodder market performance. It is determined that efficient performance of the fodder market is possible under a sufficient solvent demand of consumers and coordination of supply by using such impact tools as marketing, institutional supply, state support, cooperation and clusterization. To prevent the rise of prices for fodder that is influenced by the world prices for grain, the state should control the sphere by setting quotas for grain export.
