The analysis of the beekeeping industry functioning in terms of key indicators of economic activity in Ukraine is made. The analysis shows that the effective development of the industry is achieved only in those regions where there are a sufficient number of bee colonies per square kilometer. An important factor is reserves of feed resources, which allow obtaining maximum productivity from one bee family with minimal costs. Achievements, problems and tasks for further effective development of beekeeping in Volyn region are revealed. The paper proves that the cheapest, most effective and environmentally friendly factor influencing growth of beekeeping production is the availability of sufficient fodder nectar and pollen resources of forest areas. The priorities of effective development of forest and beekeeping industries are determined on the basis of their synergy, expressed in the maximum use of natural resource potential of forest areas of Volyn region by beekeeping branch. The paper offers to use the synergetic effect as one of the strategic directions to achieve the goals of sustainable development of the rural territories.
