Estimation of agricultural enterprises competitive environment as a tool for effective strategic management

ANNOTATION
Effective functioning of agricultural enterprises in the current economic conditions needs substantial changes in the management. In view of this, arises a new strategic concept of the enterprise manage-ment. This strategic concept is based on the positioning the places of the enterprise among its com-petitors as at present and defining place that the company wants to occupy in the future. In such circumstances the study of the competitive environment agricultural enterprises as an im-portant tool of strategic management and as one of the factors increasing the efficiency of agricultural production acquires the special actuality. The competitive environment of agricultural enterprises is a set of conditions, events or processes that arise outside enterprise, but have or may have a direct or indirect impact on results of its activities. It consists of all business entities that enter from the analyzed enterprise into market relations. It can be suppliers, customers and existing and potential competitors. The competitive environment of agricultural enterprises by major commodity segments of its activities is investigated in the article. In crop production it is a grain crops, a winter rape and a sugar beet, and in animal production it is a poultry meat and a pork. We found that competitive environment agricultural enterprises is characterized by high levels of competition. Today, large agricultural holdings and agrocorporation, and also small farmers and owners of household are engaged in agricultural production. The main factors, which forms the spe-cifically competitive relationships in the agriculture are: de-monopolization of agriculture beside high fragmentation of the branch, a significant proportion of products are made in private households, fea-tures of agricultural production, specificity of products marketing and dependence on the state policy.
